EXECUTIVE ORDER 024 SERIES 2016
AN EXECUTIVE ORDER REORGANIZING THE CITY PRICE COORDINATING COUNCIL
WHEREAS, Republic Act 7581 otherwise known as the Price Act was enacted to provide protection to consumers by stabilizing the prices of basic necessities and prime commodities and by prescribing measures against undue price increases especially during emergency situations and like occasions;
WHEREAS, creation of the Price Coordinating Council in all levels of the local government unit is likewise mandates to assist the national government in the implementation of the provisions of the price act;
NOW, THEREFORE, I CIELO KRISEL LAGMAN-LUISTRO, City Mayor of Tabaco City, Albay, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law and pursuant to DILG memorandum Circular No. 2004-75 dated June 21, 2004 do hereby order and direct the following:
SECTION 1. Reorganization of the City Price Coordinating Council (CPCC). The Price Coordinating Council is hereby reorganized and shall be composed of the following:
Chairman – City Mayor Cielo Krisel Lagman-Luistro
Vice Chairman – Rodrigo Aguilar, DTI Provincial Director
Members – Nancy Pastrana, DOH Representative
Esther Calisin, OIC-CAO
P/Supt. Allan Ramos, OIC Tabaco City Chief of Police
William Ngo, Representative from Chamber of Commerce
SECTION 2. Powers and Functions of City Price Coordinating Council. The CPCC shall have the following powers and functions as provided under Section 5, Rule VI of the IRR of Ra 7581:
- Coordinate with member agencies and rationalize the programs to stabilize prizes and supply at the local level;
- Recommend to the National Price Coordinating Council or the implementing agencies suggested retail prices and/or price ceilings;
- Analyze causes of price fluctuations and recommend actions to stabilize price and supply.
SECTION 3. EFFECTIVITY. This order shall take effect immediately.
